Rive Gauche, our 4-year-old architect-designed lodge, is a blend
of contemporary NZ and traditional European design. Purpose-built to offer
quality B&B and self-catering studio accommodation, Rive
Gauche is a home on two levels, with 2 bedrooms (B&B rooms) in a separate
wing and on the lower level, the studio unit opening out into the garden. |
| Rive Gauche is located on a
peaceful 1 hectare site overlooking the Waikato River valley, on the
left bank of the river. Rive Gauche means left bank in French). We
are close to Huka Falls, a 30 minute walk away, yet only a 3 minute
drive to Taupo town centre. There are numerous dining options in Taupo and a
good local restaurant is a 5 minute walk from Rive Gauche.
We sited our lodge to take advantage of views of our garden and
developing vineyard and have created spacious outdoor living areas including
a garden courtyard, which is available for guest use. Walking and cycle
trails are on our doorstep.
